Dentistry Department

Our Dentistry Department goes far beyond general oral care. It plays a crucial role in the oncology ecosystem by supporting head and neck cancer patients through pre-radiation dental evaluations, prosthetics, and extensive oral rehabilitation.

Oncological Dentistry & Rehabilitation

Radiation therapy to the head and neck can severely impact oral health, leading to dry mouth, dental decay, and jaw issues. Our dental team steps in before radiation begins to ensure the mouth is healthy, and stays involved post-treatment to reconstruct and rehabilitate, allowing patients to chew, swallow, and speak normally.

Specialized Dental Services

  • Comprehensive oral cancer screening and biopsy of suspicious lesions.
  • Fabrication of Maxillofacial prosthetics (obturators) for patients who have undergone jaw/palate surgery.
  • Dental implants and complex restorative dentistry.
  • Preventive procedures and fluoride treatments prior to radiation therapy.
  • Expert management of radiation-induced mucositis and xerostomia (dry mouth).
