Community Research

Cancer is a public health challenge. Our Community Research division focuses on population-level data collection to understand cancer awareness, screening uptake, and the socio-economic barriers to early diagnosis in Bihar.

Understanding the Ground Reality

Why do patients present late? What are the local lifestyle factors driving specific cancers? By answering these questions through epidemiological research, we can design more effective, culturally sensitive public awareness campaigns and screening drives tailored for rural and semi-urban populations.

Research Focus Areas

  • Large-scale community screening data collection and epidemiological mapping.
  • Studies on health-seeking-behavior and delays in cancer diagnosis.
  • Evaluating the socio-economic impact of cancer on rural families.
  • Measuring the statistical impact of our outreach and tobacco-cessation programs.
